ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Chelsea remain locked in talks over whether to redevelop Stamford Bridge or move to a new location as they bid to increase capacity for home matches. Indeed the Blues have already been told Stamford Bridge is now "too small" for their needs by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan as it holds only 40,341 seats.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Boehly is said to favour a move to a new site in Earl's Court and co-owner Hansjorg Wys has also admitted "it would be the best option" for the Blues. However, it's still not clear if the move will go ahead as there are a number of obstacles that need to be overcome before the Blues could proceed with a plan. Boehly has now been asked about stadium sizes and admits he wants a far greater capacity at Chelsea's home.

WHAT BOEHLY SAID
He told the Qatar Economic Forum: "We recognise a club like Chelsea needs a 65,000 stadium. We also recognise that's going to be important to be able to compete long term. We'll figure it out."

Stamford Bridge is only the ninth biggest stadium in the Premier League when it comes to capacity. Manchester United, Tottenham, West Ham, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Newcastle and Aston Villa all have grounds that hold more fans than the Blues.
